Material eXchange Format or MXF is a container format just like the AVI format for the professional audio and video media defined by the group of SMPTE standards. It is fairly effective at exchange of IMX material and used by many professional camcorders such as Panasonic DVCPRO P2, Sony XDCAM, Panasonic P2 502, Panasonic AVCCAM, Panasonic P2 HD, HVX200, Canon XF300/XF305, and Sony PMW-EX1/EX3/800/VX10/350K and many more to keep the audio, video and any programmed data. 

MXF file can easily be accessed and supported to edit by any video editing programs such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Apple Final Cut Pro via XDCAM Transfer, Avid and many more. But it is not supported by some basic editing programs iMovie and Windows Movie Maker and is inaccessible by many video players and portable players. 

MXF file or Material eXcahnge Format is the file formats that are targeted for interchanging the audio-visual material with associated data and metadata.  The file formats are the output of videos footage recorded by high definition camcorders such as Sony XDCAM, Canon XF, Panasonic P2 camcorders. However these MXF files does not support and cannot be edited with the help of professional video editing software like Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere Pro, Windows Movie maker, Apple Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express and many other player.

MXF video file is the raw video format so it is not supported by the android devices or any other video player. This video format is widely used in the video recorders. This video format can be easily edited and after editing it not affect the video and audio so that this file format is used in almost every video recording device.
